Authorities from the south Germany city of Freiburg have sentenced a woman to 12 years and a half of prison time. The sentence comes after she and her partner were discovered offering their 9-year-old son to other men, so they could sexually abuse the child.
For a period of two years, the little boy was quite literally sold to the highest bidder through the deep web – the deepest part of the internet, comprised of hard-to-access websites, almost impossible to visit through regular search engines – men who paid up to 10.000 Euro to humiliate and sexually abuse the boy.
Alongside the accused, for other people involved in the case were sentenced, each one from different nationalities, and whose job was to find clients. Among the charges, the “gross sexual abuse” one stands out, as the determinant factor in the weight of the sentence.
The case came to the attention of the authorities thanks to anonymous tips left during 2017, when all of the accused were first arrested; one of them – the victim’s mother’s partner – was a convicted sex offender, as he had previously abused his own daughter.
The little one is already under Child Protective Service’s care, and according to the judge’s sentence, is set to receive up to 42.000 Euro from the accused, a sum meant to make up for the undue pain and suffering they put him through. He will also receive another 18.000 from another person involved in the case, who confessed having paid to abuse the child.
